Of course, spiritual superficiality results when any persons do not have or refuse to embrace a biblical worldview of all of life.  Those of us that love people are grieving at this hour over how many Satan is deceiving and destroying who lack a biblical worldview.  He has inspired competing worldviews such as secular humanism that invented "political correctness" and "tolerance."  Within Christianity, the biblical worldview must compete with false doctrines such as the "prosperity gospel" which hyper-promotes the getting of wealth and faith teachings that take God captive to do our will.  The examples given are only the tip of the proverbial iceberg but all lead away from God´s Word.

To be sure, these are days of deception that the Holy Spirit warned nearly 2,000 years ago would come and cause even some professed Christians to depart from the faith.  The apostle Paul writes in 1 Timothy 4:1, (NKJV):

                                                                     Now,  the Spirit expressly says that in
                                                                     latter  times some will depart from the
                                                                     faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits
                                                                     and doctrines of demons…

How could such a thing happen? It happens when professed Christians are not rooted in and love God´s Word, allowing its truth as a worldview to speak into every aspect of their existence--past, present and future.

Demonic doctrines that deceive have been around since Eve fell for Satan´s lie in the garden (Genesis 3:1-6; 1 Timothy 2:14).  Satan and all of the angels that went after him into sin (Ezekiel 28:14-16; Revelation 12:3-4, 7-9) are organized in an ongoing effort to oppose God in every possible way (Daniel 10:12-13; Ephesians 6:11-12).  In his fallen mind and blind ambition Satan would even take God´s throne if that were possible (Isaiah 14:12-15).

Satan is the master deceiver.  Whom he cannot destroy of God outright, he uses seductive deceptions to corrupt and bring about their self-destruction (Genesis 3:7-19).  He cannot destroy the Church (Matthew 16:18), so he and his fellow demons have sought with varying  degrees of success over the centuries to deceive, corrupt and bring about the self-destruction of individual professed Christians, their churches and other bodies.

Truly, to the extent that churches, denominations, cults and sects are willfully established upon sin and errors in biblical doctrine, their doctrines have come from deceitful demons.  Every false religion, philosophy, doctrine and out-and-out lie lifted up against the truth of Christ and God´s Word have been intentionally inspired and taught by demons as well.

Someone will say, "Well, that´s not very tolerant."  It was not intended to be since Jesus Christ says quite exclusively, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father but through Me," (John 14:6, NKJV).  Therefore, in a biblical worldview, any other way presented to get to God other than Christ, is a doctrine of demons offered up to deceive and keep blinded, unsaved eyes from seeing Him (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).  Also, as we have already said, it is done to deceive, corrupt and seduce away those to apostasy that have professed faith in Christ as the Spirit foretold.

The Holy Spirit has also given advanced warning once more through the apostle Paul that all of this is going somewhere.  Indeed, the deceiving activity of demons (and apostasy of Christians) will intensify from here forward to reach the perfect crescendo in the unveiling of the Antichrist.  He is Satan´s apostle and with his supernatural help, will convince the whole world that he is God (2 Thessalonians 2:1-10).  Those that believe the lie will do so because they did not embrace the Gospel or love the truth embodied in a biblical worldview of life.

Again, these are not just rank sinners that will do this, but superficial professed Christians who right now depart from the faith easily persuaded by the doctrines of demons.  Because they do not "love the truth," God will allow Satan to do all of the doctrinal deception and supernatural wonders needed to strongly support the delusion of Antichrist´s deity that they may all be condemned that believe the lie.  He is just in this because not only did they refuse to believe the truth when it was clearly presented to them, but they "had pleasure in unrighteousness," (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).

Spiritual ignorance is not bliss!  The toll rejecting a biblical worldview now takes in impoverished, shattered and destroyed lives will only increase in the intensifying days of deception that are unfolding.  The government can and would not help anyway.  A robust economy will not do it.  A college education and good paying job are not the answer either.  There is no protection against being blinded, corrupted and destroyed by the deceitful doctrines of demons but to know and love God´s truth found in a biblical worldview of life (Psalm 119:97-105)!
